how should I hook up my kayak anchor?

I got a kayak anchor for christmas, and I would like to know how do I hook it up? I don’t want to do the trolley style. I just want a cleat on the side of the boat around the back of the seat. My question is where do I put the anchor when I’m paddling so it doesn’t keep sliding all over in the boat? It’s the 3lb folding anchor. Is there like a clip or something I could put on to store it out of the way? Also what type of rope should I use, the deepst I’ll be fishing is probably 15 ft.

I have been practically washed out to the Gulf of Mexico too many times in my sea kayak and want to add an anchor. Whats a good length versus average depth for my fishing kayak?

in lake erie, i often drift while fishing in my kayak… i thought for fishing an anchor could be quite handy. if so is there a particular size of anchor that would be good?

I am a beginner at fishing and enjoy it very much. I mean I’ve only been fishing (and knowing what I’m doing) for about 4 years now. It is so addicting. I don’t go a day without thinking about fishing. My parents recently purchased two average kayaks (adjustable foot rests, crossed bungee in the front, and small bungee compartment in the rear, sit-in kayak). I have really wanted to fish off of my kayak ever since I laid eyes on it. As always, before I go out and do something I over research to know exactly what I’m getting into. I would like to know what should be taken on a kayak fishing trip, what to do if I hook a fish, weather an anchor is necessary, and all other useful information needed to fish off the side of a kayak.
