I don’t want to rule out heading out on rivers with 5 mile an hour current
but I’d mainly be on pretty calm water.
I don’t want to fish
and a one seater would be fine
what kinds of things should I be looking for in a kayak?

I’m moving to Santa Fe, NM next year for employment and education enrichment and I would like to know where the residents of the city (or state) go to swim – not swimming pools – canoe, kayak, etc. Any nonpolluted lakes or rivers for water activities?
I’m looking for a good inflatable kayak that I can use in both the ocean and lakes/rivers in semi-harsh conditions when needed. I’m 6’4 220 so it needs to be big and have storage for fishing and camping gear. Looking to spend around $500, but don’t hesitate to recommend something more expensive, I want to look at all my options.
