Are there any good winter fishing spot in the Treasure Island/St. Pete area?

Any place that we can fish in the area without a boat or kayak. Plus I have medium action rods so I dont want to hook onto a tarpon. Any good spots? Thanks.

I would suggest that you try fishing in the water, of which there is a lot of in the area that you refered to ( Tampa bay, as well as the Gulf of Mexico ).
