Kayak good for getting past waves and fishing.?

I am looking for a good kayak for me to get both past ocean waves to drop my shark bait but also occasionally fishing the ocean from it. I was also thinking of fishing in the rivers from it and maybe riding in it waves. Fishing is my top priority for this and budget is limited. I’m in good shape but new to kayaks.
Also I was wondering were it would be best to buy one, possibly used. I would like a rod holder but heard it can be added on and was wondering how and how much?

I appreciate any help even if the full question isn’t answered.

HELLO! I FISH OUT OF A UNIQUE SIT ON TOP KAYAK/CANOE,ITS MADE BY SYNERGY,AND ITS CALLED MAD RIVER CANOES.ITS 10 FEET LONG AND WEIGHS ABOUT 60 LBS.I FISH ON THE FLATS IN TAMPA BAY FLORIDA. IVE CAUGHT 2 SHARKS WHILE FISHING,AND MANAGED TO LAND BOTH OF THEM.I BOUGHT MINE AS A DEMO, IT HAD 3 ROD HOLDERS AND A COMFORTABLE SEAT AND TWO DRY STORAGE SPOTS.YOU CAN LOOK ON CRAIGSLIST FOR A USED KAYAK IN YOUR AREA,WHEN YOU FIND ONE GO ON LINE AND LOOK UP HOW MUCH THEY SELL FOR NEW,THAT WILL HELP TO DETERMINE IF YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD DEAL,AND USUALLY ON A USED DEAL THEY GIVE YOU AL-OT OF ACCESSORIES LIKE PFD,AND PADDEL ETC,HOPE THIS HELPS GOOD LUCK, BAYOUDON

use google to find a kayak club in your local area. put a post up on their forum and they should have no problem helping you out. they could point you towards someone who’s selling or might even have a member selling a boat themselves.

i don’t know anyting about sea kayaks myself but i do know there is a huge selection available
