The Kayak Fishing Trip with the Stupid Parking Ordinance

I hadn’t launched from Dolphin Point in months because I had almost gotten a ticket last time for parking in a spot reserved for trucks with trailers, even though there is a sign – Texas Paddling Trail – right next to the area where kayakers launch from. It’s a stupid ordinance. We kayakers should be able to park our vehicles as close to the launch site as we can. After all, we have to haul our boats AND all our gear by hand.

Big Crappie in Occoquan Riverin VA – kayak-fishing on Feb 21, 2011

On February 21, 2011, I went to Occoquan River (Occoquan Regional Park. VA) for Yellow Perch. I met Jay, a TFier. I hooked a minnow sized fish and a tiny LM. But Jay caught may crappie. Jay gave up YP because YP weren’t there in full force. Jay fished for crappie while I fished for YP in vain. The crappie were huge. I had caught some crappie, but my crappie were small and I never thought crappie were big enough to eat and tasty. I am going back to catch crappie not YP
