Does anybody have any tips, lists or ideas on what to bring while kayak fishing in the bays near the gulf?

I live in a town that is about 10 minutes away from Freeport where there are so many saltwater bays right by the Gulf of Mexico. I just bought a Kayak and I would like some ideas or tips or lists on what to bring on a kayak fishing trip. My main target fish are Redfish and Trout.

I absolutely love to Kayak fish for red fish and the lure i primarily use is my red and white mirrOlure which imitates a mullet minnow, Red fish or Trout’s main food source. I usually pack light and take only the lures I need, along with my pole of course. To find the fish just get up into the flats, they’re ambush predators so they’ll usually be in shallow water in grass or some kind of coverage. To get specific tips on good fishing spots in your area go ask around amongst other guys who seem to have been kayak fishing for some time. for a reference on good Red fish/Trout lures go to this link: http://www.mirrolure.com/classics/colorchart.html …I recommend something similar to # 11. GOOD LUCK!

rod, reel and lures, paddle and life jacket, sunscreen and suntan lotion, water, food, and a fish stringer. Add a large brim hat and sun shades and you’re ready to fish.Sounds like you’re going to have a lot of fun.
